Air traffic control services are provided by Airways Corporation of New Zealand and are on watch 0630 hours to 2030 hours, seven days a week.

Gisborne Airport covers a land area of around 160-hectares, comprising one sealed night capable runway (Rwy 14/32) of 1310-metres in length and three grass runways suitable for light aircraft.
