Vital Statistics
Eastland Port Limited is situated on a harbour, which has a depth at its entrance of 10.5 metres providing for a maximum permissible draft of 10.0 metres. The port has a turning basin of 255 metres, and will allow a vessel of up to a maximum of 200 metres overall length to enter the port. The length of the entrance is 1.6 kilometers and the width is 92.4 metres. This port has a tidal range of 1.8 metres.

International Wharves
The port has two international wharves (seven and eight), which have a combined length of 363 metres. These are general-purpose berths, which may be utilised for container shipments. Container capable vessels can either be self-contained with cranes for the discharge and loading of containers, or alternatively shore based mobile cranes can be utilised.

Pilotage and Towage
Eastland Port provides pilotage and towage services. Use of tug or tugs is compulsory for all international commercial cargo vessels. Eastland Port has two tugs on call. Titirangi is a reverse tractor Z-Pellor with a 28 tonne bollard pull and fitted with a winch. Turihaua is a tractor Z-Pellor with 16 tonne bollard pull. The pilot launch, Turaunganui, is also available to assist with berthing and mooring operations.

Stevedoring
The port operates seven days and week and 24 hours a day, with flexible start and finish times to suit both importers and exporters. Three stevedoring companies operate at the port.

Storage
There is plenty of storage available at the port including 13.5 hectares of paved and unpaved open storage area. In addition, there is a nine-hectare log storage area with a capacity of approximately 60,000 tonnes. There are two dry storage buildings with a joint capacity of 5,225 square metres. These are ideal for storing products such as plywood and squash. Cool Storage facilities are also available for products such as apples and kiwifruit.

Fishing and Pleasure
Eastland Port Limited provides facilities for commercial fishing vessels, and there are marinas and a boat ramp available for small craft.
