Eastland Network is in the business of electricity lines.
We own the lines and generation assets in the Gisborne and Wairoa districts. The current network has fixed assets of around $110 million, made up of 4,358km of distribution lines, connection numbers of around 26,000 and generation assets including the 5MWh Waihi Hydro Dam inland from Wairoa.
In recent years we have strived to improve our services, including a $4million upgrade of the Massey Road Substation, upgraded transmission lines and improving the security of supply to the Gisborne CBD and industrial areas.
As it is 100% owned by Eastland Community Trust – a community trust where the income beneficiary is the community and the capital beneficiary is Gisborne District Council. In short, that means the network assets are still owned by the community.
